Jaguar MkII 3.8 litre

The MkII Jaguar followed on from the MkI and was produced by Jaguar Cars at their Coventry Works from 1959 until 1967. This car was first registered in October 1963 in Glasgow and was fitted with a 3.4 lit version of the straight 6 cylinder XK engine, the colour at that time was black. It was the first production saloon car to be fitted with Dunlop disc brakes on all 4 wheels. In 1991 the car was completely stripped and rebuilt with the opportunity taken to install a more powerful 3.8 litre engine and the colour was changed to Old English White.

The interior was totally refurbished with deep red Connely hide leather seating and the Burr Walnut dashboard and door cappings were renewed. The current owner also made compatible mechanical changes with the fitting of rack and pinion steering and conversion for unleaded fuel. The Jaguar MkII is a fast luxury saloon car which in period was used by both criminals and police alike. It achieved an envious reputation on the racing circuits with drivers like Mike Hawthorn, Stirling Moss and Peter Collins winning many championships.
